Measuring Your Foot: Step-by-Step Guide

When measuring your foot, a clean sheet of white paper and pen is all you need. Place it on a flat surface - preferably on a hard floor or linoleum (avoid high-pile carpets). Stand barefoot on the paper and shift your weight onto the foot. Then, follow these steps:

  1. Use a pencil to mark the heel and the longest toe on the paper.
  2. Measure the distance between these two points using a ruler or tailor's tape measure.
  3. Repeat the process for the other foot, as the difference between feet can be up to 5 mm.
  4. Note that the crucial measurement is the length of the larger foot, but keep in mind that this does not directly correspond to shoe size, as additional room is also considered.

Note:

Measuring children's feet can be tricky as they are active and constantly on the move. Consider measuring two to three times within a couple of days for accuracy. An additional trick, especially for small children, is to measure their feet from time to time for no particular reason, helping them become more familiar with the process.
